JJ Ryder is a solid, athletic, and loyal dude who is down for any adventure and happy to crash hard when the day is done. He's about 4 years old, 75 lbs, and built like a dog who naturally walks right beside you. JJ lives for adventure, whether it's long hikes, fetch marathons, snow days, swimming, or boat rides. Tennis balls are non-negotiable, and he's ready to go the moment shoes come out! He's equally happy to chill after a day of activity, snuggle on the couch, or quietly watch your next move.
JJ clicks fast with men and thrives on calm, confident leadership. He responds incredibly well to structure and bonds deeply with his person. He's smart, calm, and tuned in, already knowing a solid set of commands. He is gentle-lead trained and comes when called. He is currently fostered with a loving couple and his foster mom often feels like a third wheel when his dad is home because he's all about him! JJ's foster mom works from home, and he hangs at her feet or around the house, patiently waiting for his dad to come home. He's unfazed by loud trucks, motorcycles, thunder, or fireworks and will alert you to new people or dogs before settling down. JJ gets his confidence from his #1 person and will trust you to guide him on all his adventures. At home, he is fully potty trained and crate trained, so JJ can free-roam without causing trouble. He's respectful of space, not destructive, doesn't resource guard, and sleeps quietly through the night. He is affectionate without being pushy, loyal without being clingy – just a dang good dog. JJ is currently thriving with a large male Lab best friend and a playful small dog, but he'd be just as happy as a one-dog companion.

JJ is best suited for an adult home or one with calm older teens. Due to his prey drive, a cat-free home is ideal.
