Meet Rocky, a lovable 5-year-old Hound mix weighing 38 pounds, who is searching for the peaceful forever home he truly deserves. Rocky came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He was deeply loved by his family, and it absolutely shows. Unfortunately, the busy, energetic environment with young children was overwhelming for him. Rocky is happiest in a calm, quiet home with adults and kids 10 and up who will give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe. At first, Rocky can be a little shy, but behind those gentle eyes is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet. Once he trusts you, he'll happily snuggle beside you, shower you with love, and even curl up in bed at night. Watching him blossom is incredibly rewarding. Rocky has wonderful house manners. He's crate trained, isn't destructive when left home alone, and already knows several commands, including sit, lay down, stay, and go potty. He enjoys leisurely walks, relaxing car rides, and simply spending time with his people. With his low-to-medium energy level, he's the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Rocky has lived peacefully with cats and has done well with them. He has been very shy around other dogs, so slow introductions and a patient approach will help him feel comfortable. Right now, Rocky's biggest job is gaining weight and soaking up all the love and TLC his new family has to offer. Rocky doesn't ask for much—just a quiet place, a kind heart, and someone willing to love him as much as he'll love them in return. If you think Rocky could be the missing piece of your family, we'd love to hear from you.
