Kolton is a soft, sensitive little soul who likes quiet routines, familiar people, and the general concept of staying home in sweatpants pretending the outside world does not exist. This is the ultimate introvert dog. Kolton came back to us this spring after being adopted as a puppy in 2021. He is not a bold dog and never has been. In Kolton's case, the arrival of a new baby in the home was just too much change for him, and he struggled to adjust. So now we are looking for a calmer, lower-key home that fits who Kolton actually is instead of who people hoped he would become. He is very sweet with his people and deeply affectionate once he feels safe. He loves the sofa. He loves snuggling. He loves being part of the household without needing to be the center of attention. This is not your brewery patio dog or your invite everyone over for game night dog. Kolton is a homebody through and through and he does not love active households with lots of comings and doings. He is housebroken, well-mannered, and easy to live with. He is also generally good with cats. Other dogs are more complicated. Kolton is not aggressive, but he is uncomfortable and unsure around dogs, especially in close living situations. We believe he would do best as an only dog. Because of his timid nature and his history, we are looking for a home with teenaged and up. What Kolton really needs is not complicated. A quiet house. A predictable life. A soft couch. Someone kind who understands that shy dogs are still very good dogs. He is not flashy, but for the right person, he is going to be an incredibly loyal little companion. He would be outstanding for a retired person.
Ideal Home
Kolton would thrive in a quiet, low-key home with a predictable routine. He needs a calm environment and would do best as the only dog. Homes with teenagers and up are preferred due to his timid nature. He is not suited for active households with a lot of comings and goings.
