About Boomer

Meet Boomer! This handsome fellow, born in February 2024 and weighing 43 lbs, is a professional napper and an independent toy enthusiast. Boomer is the perfect "only king" for a savvy bully lover who appreciates a low-maintenance housemate. He’s an exemplary housemate, fully housebroken, non-destructive, and incredibly chill. If you enjoy a quiet, low-key household, Boomer will match your energy perfectly. He doesn't require grueling hikes, preferring short walks of about 15 minutes to explore. Boomer is also a toy champion who loves chewing and is excellent at entertaining himself. He's a brilliant student, highly treat-motivated and quick to learn, making training a fun experience. Boomer was rescued by TBL from a Bakersfield shelter in March 2026, where he was at risk of euthanasia.

Ideal Home

Boomer needs an experienced, confident owner who understands bully breed body language. He requires an only pet status as sharing a home triggers resource guarding. This is a strictly adult-only home due to his sensitive startle reflex and aversion to unpredictable movements. A quiet, low-traffic lifestyle is essential, meaning busy apartment complexes or high-traffic neighborhoods are too stressful for him. He needs a quiet environment where he won't be surprised. The "floor-only" rule is a must; Boomer experiences spatial insecurity on elevated surfaces and must be kept off all furniture, with his own comfortable floor beds provided.

Ongoing Health

No specific ongoing health conditions are mentioned.

Training & Support

Boomer has a short fuse when startled, crowded, or overstimulated and uses warning nips to create space when his boundaries are crossed. He has excellent bite inhibition, meaning he does not break skin. For his first few weeks, Boomer needs a quiet routine to decompress. He thrives best with an owner who prioritizes clear boundaries, rewards his quick learning, and avoids overwhelming him with immediate, intense physical affection. He is not a social butterfly for crowded gatherings or a dog park candidate.
