Ralphie

My name is Ralphie and I have a story to tell, though it's one of hardship. I was subjected to a miserable existence by a cruel owner, confined to a small porch and subjected to constant abuse. When my owner moved, I was abandoned and eventually found myself roaming the streets. Thankfully, kind individuals alerted Lucies Project, and I was brought to safety. The vet's assessments showed no signs of aggression, and despite being heartworm positive, I am undergoing treatment and am ready for a loving home. I'm leash and crate trained, but I am slow to trust new people, especially men, though I have male volunteers who care for me. I need a patient person who will give me the time and love I deserve to adjust and thrive.

A patient and understanding home is a must for Ralphie. He needs someone who can dedicate the time to help him adjust and build trust.

Ongoing Health

Ralphie is currently being treated for heartworm. Lucies Project will cover up to $400 for a rapid heartworm treatment.

Training & Support

Ralphie is leash and crate trained. He is slow to warm up to new people and has a general distrust of most men, though he does have male caretakers who have earned his trust. He will require time and consistent positive reinforcement to build confidence in his new home.
