About Bear

Meet Bear!

Bear is a spirited two-year-old German Shepherd mix who is a radiant blend of loyalty, laughter, and tan and black beauty, crowned with a charming white patch on her chest. Weighing about 40 pounds, Bear is a medium-sized, high-energy girl who lives for connection and play! She adores chasing balls and knows commands such as crate, outside, no, and drop it. She is crate-trained and house-trained, and settles nicely when left alone for short periods. Inside the home, Bear transforms into a world-class cuddle champion! She adores lounging on the couch, climbing into laps, giving gentle hugs, and covering her favorite people with sweet kisses. Her goofy personality shines through in the way she wiggles with excitement and proudly parades her ball around like a prized treasure!

Ideal Home

Bear needs a home where she can be the center of attention, soaking up affection and sharing her big heart without competition. Due to past altercations with another female dog, she needs to be the only dog in a secure, fenced environment.

Ongoing Health

Bear has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Bear can be alert to her surroundings and will bark at noises, visitors, and activity outside the home. When she barks at people inside the home, it is usually out of curiosity or excitement. She may also bark protectively at unfamiliar people outside due to natural guarding instincts. She settles with guidance, and with continued socialization and positive reinforcement training, her reactivity is expected to improve. Bear would benefit from an experienced pet parent who is comfortable with training and managing reactive behavior while continuing to build her confidence.
