Meet Artie!
Some dogs are just born to be lap dogs... and Artie takes that job very seriously. At just 4.5 pounds, this 5-year-old Chihuahua is about as portable as they come. He's happiest curled up in your lap, tucked under a blanket beside you on the couch, or following you from room to room. If you've been looking for a little shadow with a huge heart, Artie is ready to apply for the position. This little guy has the cutest face, the sweetest personality, and enough love packed into his tiny body to last a lifetime. While he's doing just fine sharing a home with other dogs, it's clear that people are his favorite. If he has to choose between hanging out with the dogs or snuggling with you... you're going to win every time.
Ideal Home
Artie would fit into lots of different homes. If your home has kiddos, he would likely do well with older, respectful children who understand how to safely handle such a tiny pup. As such a teeny boy, he's simply too small for the accidental bumps and tumbles that can come with very young kids.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
Training & Support
We don't know much about Artie's life before rescue. What we do know is that he deserved better. He was found abandoned with two other little dogs, locked inside a park restroom until someone discovered them. How long they were there and what caused them to be dumped, we'll never know. Now we're looking for the one thing Artie has always deserved... a family who will love him for the rest of his life. Someone who understands that forever really means forever.

Transporation
This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
