Meet Willow!

Willow is a courageous two-year-old Siberian Husky/American Pitbull Terrier mix with a tricolor coat that shimmers as brightly as her unstoppable spirit. She's a resilient girl who, despite a challenging beginning, has blossomed into a loving, curious pup with an incredible zest for life. A distemper survivor, Willow has endured more than most, but her happy trot on a long walk or a cozy cuddle session would never let you guess. She absolutely loves exploring the world on walks or hikes with her person!

Ideal Home

Willow does best in a single-dog home but may thrive with a dog of similar energy and age, provided they don't share food, as she can guard her meals. She needs a calm, adult family that values routine and kindness, and guardians who are home often and understand the beauty of going slow and steady.

Ongoing Health

Willow is a distemper survivor.

Training & Support

Willow can guard her food around other dogs. She has shown protective behaviors and may nip when overly excited. She is also fearful of strangers, particularly men, which can cause her to react defensively when unsure or unsafe. These behaviors are rooted in past trauma and fear, not aggression. Willow is actively working through these in a board-and-train program focused on building confidence through positive reinforcement and is learning to trust again. She is crate trained, house trained, and knows "sit."
