About Miranda

Miranda is an approximately 1 year and 9 month-old Caramelo Dog / Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 46 pounds. She's a sweet and energetic girl with a protective nature, eager to form a strong bond with her forever family. Miranda is both crate trained and house trained, and she walks nicely on a leash. She's also a social butterfly, getting along well with cats, dogs, children, men, and women. Miranda was rescued after being found wandering the streets of Houston, and she's now safe and ready for the love and stability she deserves. While she's affectionate and loving, Miranda can be a little shy in new situations and may need a little time to warm up. She is watchful and will bark if she senses something is amiss or if she feels threatened.

Ideal Home

Miranda would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and a family that enjoys outdoor activities. She would do best with experienced owners who understand the needs of rescued animals and have a background in dog behavior and training. A high level of patience and tolerance is also important, as she is a rescue who is still learning.

Ongoing Health

Miranda has received her spay/neuter, DHPPI vaccine, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She also has a heartworm test certificate and a health certificate, along with a vaccines booklet.

Training & Support

While Miranda is house trained and crate trained, it's important to note that the rescue is unable to house-train every foster. Potential adopters should be prepared to continue reinforcing good habits and understand that rescued animals may need extra patience and education, especially regarding their protective instincts.
