Darren Dixon

Hi there! My name is Darren, but my foster mom likes to call me Dixon. I'm a 55lb Lab Retriever Mix with an estimated birthday of 11/25/2024. I've been through a lot, but thanks to the kindness of my foster mom, Sunnyside Street Dogs, and Pooch Manor, I've been given a second chance at life and I'm eager to show everyone how wonderful I am!

When I first arrived at my foster home, I was a bit shy and scared, but my foster mom gave me the space and quiet I needed to feel safe. Now, I've blossomed into a confident and loving boy! I have a blast playing with the younger dog in my foster home, and our older dog tolerates my enthusiasm. The kids are my absolute favorite, and I love them just as much. I'm still working on making friends with the cat, but I'm optimistic! I'm a smart cookie too – I know "sit" and "shake," and I have a special trick called "Pray" that will melt your heart. I love to gently nudge my foster mom for pets and praise, which I could never get enough of. My skin is still healing, and I get weekly medicated baths to help my fur grow back. My foster mom says I look like a little werewolf, but her massages make up for it! I'm also kennel trained and see my kennel as my safe space, especially when I know treats and praise are involved. I'm just looking for a loving family to call my own, and if you have another playful dog, that would be the icing on the cake!

Ideal Home

I'd love a home where I'll be cherished forever. A home with another playful dog for me to wrestle and romp with would be wonderful.

Ongoing Health

My skin is still healing, and I receive medicated baths weekly to help my fur grow back.

Training & Support

I'm kennel and potty trained. I know "sit" and "shake," and I have a special "Pray" trick. I enjoy gentle nudges for attention.
