Charlie is an approximately 1½-year-old, 85–90 pound neutered Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix with a sweet and energetic personality. He was rescued from a shelter after ending up on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding, and he's now eagerly awaiting his forever home. Charlie loves to play ball, especially tennis balls, and enjoys a good game of keep-away. He's up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and is both crate and potty trained.
Ideal Home
Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as his enthusiasm might be overwhelming for smaller children. He'd thrive with an active individual, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking or running. He does prefer female dogs over males and has not been tested with cats, though his high energy may not be ideal for a feline companion. He is not to be tied out or have access to electric fences.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie is a smart boy who already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and gentle. He is still learning "down." He rides well in the car and doesn't exhibit anxiety. His intelligence and eagerness to learn suggest he could excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work.
