Trix is an 8-month-old, spayed female Pitbull mix weighing around 35 pounds. She's a shy girl with the sweetest, smartest soul! Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter in Houston. While her brother found his forever home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity. When unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. She is gentle, just scared, and very quiet. Trix is incredibly observant, picks things up quickly, and is very smart – she figured out a doggy door within a couple of days! With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable and will surprise you by playing with toys, running with other dogs, and eventually cuddling with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She does well with other dogs after proper acclimation, and we strongly believe she would thrive with a confident canine companion. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. She has been around kids and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.

Trix is housebroken and loves her crate. She is learning to walk on a leash. She needs a family willing to invest in her and help her find her courage.

- This is followed by a video call with the foster home.
- Virtual home visits, personal, and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.
- Transports run every few weeks, and Trix will be on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
Transportation
Trix is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. Her adoption donation includes transport to her new home once an adopter is matched.
