Meet Vanna! This approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix is a true sweetheart with a heart full of love to give. She's a playful, affectionate, and incredibly loyal companion who thrives on being close to her people, earning her the nickname "velcro dog." Whether you're looking for a cozy cuddle buddy or an adventure partner, Vanna is ready to be by your side through it all. She has medium energy and enjoys activities like fetch and walks, and she's a fantastic car rider, making her a joy to take on outings. Vanna is also trusted to roam freely in the house and doesn't get into any mischief, as her main focus is always being near her favorite humans.
Ideal Home
Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and attention. She needs a home that can provide structure, reassurance, and lots of affection. Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home. While she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) without resource guarding or competition issues, she doesn't do well with smaller dogs. She can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but is friendly and warms up with time. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. Like many dogs who have experienced trauma, Vanna is working through some challenges.
Training & Support
Vanna has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, so continued support and management are important. She also needs ongoing training for leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. Vanna is crate trained and has the potential to continue growing with patience and consistency.

Transportation
Vanna is currently located in Texas. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved. If you cannot accept a dog until a specific time, please apply closer to that time.
