Meet Akira!
This sweet, 5.5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix is a true gem who weighs around 60lbs. Akira was rescued from a euthanasia list with mere minutes to spare and has been patiently waiting for her forever home for nine months. We're not sure why, but she hasn't received a single application – a mystery, considering her adorable puppy-dog eyes and loving nature!
Akira is fully crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She's a big love bug who believes she's a tiny lap dog, always ready to lounge and snuggle with her favorite person. During the day, you'll find her napping on a comfy dog bed until it's time for a walk. She listens well, follows commands, and takes treats ever so gently. For entertainment, she enjoys chewing on bones or playing with her stuffed toys.
Ideal Home
Akira adores people and gets along well with calm, submissive dogs. However, her ultimate dream is to be the one and only apple of your eye, so she would also be perfectly happy as the sole canine companion in her new home.

Akira is a healthy girl who has been spayed. Our veterinarians provide their best guess on breed and age, as exact information is often limited.
Training & Support
Akira is already crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She is a gentle and attentive girl who is eager to please.

- Once your initial screen is complete, you'll be connected for a video chat.
- Please note that transports run every few weeks, and your dog will be scheduled for the next available transport after approval. If you have specific timing needs for adoption, please apply at that time.
- As a volunteer-run rescue, we dedicate our time to these dogs. We ask that you are serious about moving forward in our adoption process. If someone else is involved in the decision-making, please ensure they are on board before applying.

Akira is currently in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up.
