Five years after scoring her dream home, sweet senior Kahlua has found herself back in rescue and on the search again. She's looking for a family just as loving as her last one, which was sadly ripped apart after her adopter died unexpectedly. Her daddy specifically had it written in his will that he did not want her to go to the shelter. Might your home be the place for her instead? Kahlua is a low-maintenance girl, with her essentials including merely snuggles and snacks. At 10+ years old, she prefers lounging, especially if its on the couch or in bed with you. She loves being glued to her humans side, but if you must leave her home alone, she does best with room to move around, not being crated. Previously adopted to be a playmate to her familys other dog, Kahlua is still showing herself to be a social butterfly with dogs similar in size to her. Small dogs are unknown, and cats are a no. Originally a stray from a high-kill shelter in Alabama in 2017, Kahlua has dodged death row twice already and just wants a peaceful retirement home to live out her last years.
Ideal Home
Kahlua loves to lounge and would do best in a home where she has room to move around when left alone, rather than being crated. She is looking for a home without cats, and while she gets along with dogs similar in size to her, small dogs are unknown.
Ongoing Health
Kahlua is almost 60 pounds and received a perfect body condition score of 5. The vet complimented her health and shape, especially for her age. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-free.
