Ann Marie is the kind of dog who makes you wonder why anyone ever leaves the couch in the first place. One look at her wiggly little body, her happy piggy-snorts, and her dramatic belly-flop routine and you'll understand exactly why she's the absolute sweetest girl ever. Ann Marie feels a little too formal for a dog whose greatest passions in life are naps, snacks, belly rubs, and aggressively cuddling anyone who dares sit down near her. She is basically a professional snuggler and has perfected the "Belly RollTM" move. At around 8 years old and 50 pounds, Ann Marie is the ideal low-maintenance companion. She's happy to snooze beside you during a movie marathon, supervise your patio lunch date, join you for a beach day, or accompany you on leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. She is the perfect mix of silly and settled.
Ann Marie absolutely adores people and lights up around affection. She has lived with a child and done wonderfully, and her foster says she's been around large groups of people and happily soaked up every ounce of attention. She wants to quietly exist alongside her people, occasionally waddling over for kisses and couch cuddles before returning to her very important nap schedule.
Ideal Home
Ann Marie would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home where she can fully relax and soak up all the attention. However, with the right match, she may also do well with a calm, confident, lower-energy male dog who respects boundaries. If there's another dog in the home, her team would want a trainer discussion beforehand. She would do best with calm, dog-savvy kitties who mostly keep to themselves.
