Duchess (Rose)

Meet Duchess!

Duchess, formerly known as Rose, is a stunning approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd who weighs around 70 pounds. She was originally adopted from us three years ago after raising her adorable "Wine Puppies" litter. While her previous family loved her dearly, they made the difficult decision to return her due to her developing aggression towards small female dogs in the home. Duchess is healthy, spayed, house-trained, and has no known health concerns. She is up to date on all routine veterinary care.

Ideal Home

Duchess thrives with a strong bond with her people and is incredibly loyal, intelligent, and affectionate with the adults she trusts. She loves to be involved in family life, whether that's joining you on a hike, cuddling on the couch, or keeping watch over her home. She has lived successfully with teenagers and enjoys being part of a busy household. Due to her size, protective nature, and past experiences, she should be in a home with older children or adults only. She must not be placed in a home with small dogs. She may do well as an only dog or potentially with a large male dog, provided proper introductions and management are in place.

Ongoing Health

Duchess is healthy and spayed. She has no known health concerns and is up to date on all routine veterinary care.

Training & Support

Duchess is a highly intelligent girl who knows several commands including sit, stay, shake, and down. She walks nicely on a harness and leash. As a true German Shepherd, she is naturally alert and protective of her home but is not an excessive barker. She takes her job of protecting her family seriously and forms strong relationships with those she sees regularly. She is looking for a home that understands her needs and is willing to give her time to decompress and build trust. Introductions should be taken slowly.
