Meet Gina! This 1-year-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix, weighing 56lbs, is a sweet girl with a resilient spirit. Gina was found as a tiny puppy abandoned in a cardboard box by a busy road, but thanks to a loving foster, she's now ready for her forever family. She's a playful pup who enjoys a good game of tug-of-war with her smaller dog siblings and has learned to play fetch. Gina loves collecting her toys and keeping them all in her bed. She's house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. While she's a smart cookie, she's still in her "puppy velociraptor" stage and will need guidance on appropriate chew toys.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who can provide daily play and mental stimulation. She'd do well with older children (10 and up) who are dog-savvy, as she can be jumpy when excited and doesn't realize her size. She would also be happy with a couple or someone living alone. A home with another dog would be great to keep her company and help her burn off energy, but she is not suited for a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
Gina is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Gina needs ongoing positive training and socialization to help her grow into a well-mannered adult. She is still learning what is appropriate to chew on, so redirection will be important. Due to past experiences, she can be apprehensive of larger dogs she doesn't know and will do best with slow introductions.
