Archie

Archie is a very sweet, handsome two-year-old Weimaraner who came into our rescue program after suffering a life-threatening hemorrhage. His original family had him undergo surgery to remove a lump on his chest. After discharge, Archie developed an unstoppable hemorrhage from the surgery site. He received additional treatment at an emergency veterinary hospital, but ultimately had to be surrendered to a partner animal shelter, who then contacted TPWR. Archie has since made a full recovery and is thriving in his foster home with four other Weimaraners. He loves to play, especially fetch, and is an energetic pup who still needs to learn some boundaries and how to walk well on a leash. As is common for Weimaraners, Archie shows signs of separation anxiety, which his foster family is actively working on. Because of this, he is looking for a forever family that can spend a lot of time with him.

Ideal Home

Archie will do best in an adoptive home where his family can dedicate their time to being with him, exercise him regularly, and provide daily structure and enrichment through training and play. He does well with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Archie has fully recovered from his postoperative hemorrhage.

Training & Support

Archie needs to learn some boundaries and how to walk well on a leash. He shows signs of separation anxiety, and his foster family is working on this. He will benefit from a family that can provide daily structure and enrichment through training and play.
