Chico

Chico is a 2-year-old Heeler with a big personality and an even bigger heart. After spending time as a stray, he's learning what it means to be part of a family and enjoys being close to his people. He's affectionate, loyal, and loves companionship once he's comfortable with you. Like many intelligent working breeds, Chico values his personal space and isn't always a fan of being handled or restrained. He can be sensitive about certain interactions and will do best with an experienced owner who understands dog body language and is willing to build trust at his pace. Chico is looking for a patient, confident adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement training. In return, he'll be a devoted companion with plenty of character and spirit.

Ideal Home

A home without young children may be the best fit due to his handling sensitivities. Chico needs an experienced owner who understands dog body language and is willing to build trust at his pace.

Ongoing Health

Chico has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Chico can be sensitive about certain interactions and may need support in learning to trust and be handled. He will benefit from consistent, positive reinforcement training.
