Toffee is a 9-month-old, 40 lb mixed breed, likely a Vizsla mix, with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. She's a happy, playful, and affectionate girl who loves romping with other dogs, followed by cozy cuddle time. Toffee is dog and cat friendly, house-trained, and crate-trained. She thrives in a structured home environment. While Toffee can be timid in new environments, she's made great strides with encouragement and patience as she continues to build her confidence. She's learning to love the outside world and the adventures it brings. Toffee used to be afraid of car rides, but with consistent desensitization work, she now jumps in willingly, knowing that the car means adventure! She does still drool during travel but recovers quickly upon arrival. This sweet girl just needs someone willing to go at her pace, cheer her on, and show her how wonderful the world can be.
Ideal Home
Toffee would thrive in a home with a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. Her ideal family is patient and understanding, willing to continue building her confidence. A home with children aged 10 and older who are dog-savvy would be best, and she should not be placed in a home with an infant or toddler. Toffee is uncomfortable around small dogs or puppies, so a home without them is essential.
Ongoing Health
Toffee does drool during car rides, but this is a minor issue that resolves once she reaches her destination.
Training & Support
Toffee is house-trained and crate-trained. She is still building confidence in new environments and with new experiences, which will require continued patience and positive reinforcement. Her desensitization to car rides has been very successful.
