Annie

Annie is ready to waddle into your home and join your family! This adorable 12-year-old dachshund recently arrived at VPR after her owner passed. She's been very brave during this new phase of her life, and we know she'll be so happy to be a beloved pet once again. Annie loves people and gets along well with other dogs. She's happy to be picked up, enjoys sitting in a warm lap, and is always ready for a good nap.

Annie would love a home where she can receive plenty of affection and enjoy relaxing naps.

Ongoing Health

Annie is carrying a little extra weight, which can contribute to a recessed vulva, potentially increasing her risk of UTIs and infections. A healthy weight, achieved through portion control and exercise, will benefit her overall health and joints. Until then, gentle wiping after potty breaks is recommended to prevent irritation or infection. Her left eye is non-visual due to past trauma but causes no pain and does not require surgical removal. She is finishing a course of antibiotics for Anaplasma, and her overall bloodwork was good, though her white blood cell count was slightly low. This should be rechecked in a few months. Annie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Vintage Pet Rescue will cover the cost of a future dental procedure at the adopter's vet.
