Meet Hansel! This sweet, affectionate 3-year-old, 55 lb Husky/Cattle Dog mix came to us from a rescue in CA after he and one of his siblings were abandoned. Despite his difficult start, Hansel is ready to find an active family to call his own!

Hansel is smart, athletic, energetic, and always up for an adventure. He's looking for a family that can match his active lifestyle and give him plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. Whether it's hiking, running, exploring new trails, or simply getting outside every day, Hansel is your guy!

Ideal Home

Hansel has done well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends, though he prefers slow, thoughtful introductions. He has a rough-and-tumble play style and can be a little growly and grumbly while playing, but it's simply part of how he communicates during playtime. Like many intelligent working breeds, Hansel is clever and resourceful. He has been known to climb fences, so he'll need a very secure, escape-proof yard or adopters with a solid management plan to keep him safe.
