Meet Spila, a delightful five-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix who weighs 51 pounds. Spila, whose name means "Coyote," is a clever and spirited girl ready to leave the stress of the shelter behind and find a loving home where she can truly blossom. While she can be a bit unsure in the kennel, once you get her outside, her playful, affectionate, and silly personality shines through! She's a quick learner who already knows "sit," "sit pretty," and "shake," and she's very motivated by treats and squeaky toys. Spila also has a knack for pest control and is a natural mouser!
Ideal Home
Spila would thrive in a patient and understanding home without young children, where she can acclimate at her own pace. She may also prefer a home without other large, dominant dogs. If you have other dogs, a meet-and-greet will help ensure everyone gets along swimmingly.
Ongoing Health
Spila has a mysterious scar on her side, a reminder of her past, but it doesn't affect her health or happiness. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming.
Training & Support
Spila is kennel trained and responds well to "kennel up." She enjoys learning and would benefit from a family that can continue to engage her mind with training and activities. She walks fairly well on a leash, though she can be a bit reserved with strangers until she builds trust.
