Duke Ellington is the living embodiment of pure joy! This goofy, lovable boy is a 2-year-old, 50lb Pittie/Boxer mix who greets every day with enthusiastic wiggles and a giant, happy grin. He's affectionate, playful, and incredibly expressive, making him feel more like an over-the-top best friend than just a dog. Duke loves to "sing" opera when the mood strikes, so prepare for some dramatic vocal performances!

Ideal Home

Duke would thrive in a semi-active household that wants a dog to be a central part of their lives. A backyard is a must for him to zoom, play, and practice his singing. He also needs a home where he won't be left alone for long stretches, as he thrives on companionship and being included in family activities. Apartment living is likely not the best fit due to his vocal nature.

Duke knows how to sit, is treat-motivated, and enjoys learning. He is crate-trained and potty-trained. Transport is available nationwide, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up locations in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
