Alvin

Meet Alvin! He's a 6-year-old, 51-pound neutered male Lab/Hound mix with a heart of gold and a zest for life. Alvin is the perfect blend of happy-go-lucky and loyal companion. At 6 years old, he still has plenty of energy for adventures but has all the wonderful qualities that come with a mature dog. If you're looking for a best friend to join you on walks, hikes, or trips to the dog park, Alvin is ready to sign up! This handsome guy is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered, house trained, and crate trained, and knows his basic commands. He's a social butterfly who loves being around people and has even done great in playgroups during boarding. He also enjoys regular trips to the dog park, where he's happiest making new canine friends.

Ideal Home

Alvin is looking for an active family with a securely fenced yard, plenty of adventures, and humans who appreciate a fun-loving dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He does best with submissive dogs and appreciates calm, friendly interactions with other dogs. Once he's comfortable, he's ready to play. Due to his strong instinct to chase, he'll need a home without cats or other small pets. Older, respectful children only.

Ongoing Health

Alvin is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and neutered. All dogs in our care are kept up-to-date on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Alvin is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basic commands. He sometimes gets excited and jumps when meeting new people, but with continued consistency and positive reinforcement, this happy habit can improve.

Transportation

Take Paws Rescue is based in New Orleans, LA. Animals live in foster homes and transport can be arranged.
