Toaster

Toaster is a 2.5-year-old dog with a zest for life that's truly contagious! Despite a past spinal injury that affects his movement, Toaster's spirit is unbroken. He's gained strength and coordination in our care and can even navigate short staircases. His enthusiasm is boundless, and while he's learning gentler play styles, he sometimes expresses his affection by gently mouthing forearms. Toaster is heartworm negative and has no other medical concerns beyond his unique gait. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs but can be startling to them with his movements. Due to his wobbly nature, he would be safest in a home with older children.

Ideal Home

A home with older children would be ideal for Toaster, as his movements can be unpredictable and he could accidentally knock over a toddler.

Ongoing Health

Toaster is heartworm negative and has no additional medical concerns beyond his healed spinal break.

Training & Support

Toaster is already doing a great job keeping his kennel clean, so housetraining is expected to be a breeze. He is also surprisingly mellow on a leash. He's still learning how to interact appropriately with other dogs and humans, but he is not aggressive.
