About Hoot

Meet Hoot!

Hoot is a fun-loving, active young pup who was born in December 2024. He thrives on outdoor time, play sessions, and having a canine buddy to romp around with. He absolutely loves running and playing outside and settles in nicely at night, often choosing to sleep right beside the bed. Hoot has been accident-free in his foster home, is crate trained, and has even earned free roam privileges when his foster leaves because he’s such a good boy. He walks well on a leash and is just beginning his basic obedience training. Hoot was found dumped outside a Dollar General before coming into rescue, but he’s now learning what safety, stability, and love truly feel like — and he’s ready to find a forever family willing to help him keep growing.

Ideal Home

Hoot would do best in a home with a playful canine companion to romp around with. He can be a little shy and skittish if approached too quickly and may be slightly stand-offish while building trust, so he’ll need a patient adopter who understands that confidence comes with time and consistency. A secure fenced yard and continued leash or harness use in public will help him feel safe as he continues gaining confidence. He is okay with cats, though he can be curious.

Ongoing Health

All of Hoot's vaccinations, deworming, and microchip are current. He has also been given flea and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed by a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption.

Training & Support

Hoot is crate trained and has earned free roam privileges when his foster is away. He walks well on a leash and is beginning basic obedience training. He can be a little shy and skittish if approached too quickly, so he needs a patient adopter to help him build confidence.
