Meet Petey!
This handsome tri-colored boy is a 3–4 year old, 35 lb Australian Shepherd who was picked up as a stray and is now thriving in a foster home. Petey gets along wonderfully with other dogs, but if he had to choose, he'd pick his people every time! He absolutely craves attention, loves to cuddle, and wants to be wherever you are. This sweet boy is the definition of a Velcro dog—your loyal shadow and constant companion. Friendly and enthusiastic, Petey greets everyone with a happy tail wag and a big smile. He enjoys toys, playing ball, and a good game of tug. He's a great listener, super clingy in the best possible way, and loves being involved in whatever his people are doing. He enjoys playing tug with humans but prefers not to share toys that way with other dogs. He already knows basic commands like sit and come, and he loves to run and play. While at the shelter, Petey was walked through the cat room and showed very little interest in the cats. When one hissed at him, he actually backed away and hid behind his handler, suggesting he would likely do well in a cat-friendly home. Petey is a loving, affectionate, and fun companion who is ready to find a family of his own. He is housebroken, neutered, fully vaccinated, and eager to start his next chapter with someone who will appreciate his loyal heart and cuddly nature. If you're looking for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through every adventure, follow you from room to room, and always be ready for cuddles, Petey may be your perfect match!
