Meet Django!
Django is a bright, two-year-old mixed breed with a sleek black coat and white accents. He's a medium-sized boy, weighing around 50 pounds, and possesses a thoughtful curiosity about the world. Django forms deep bonds with his people and celebrates their return with immense joy, making them feel like the most important person of the day! He’s an active companion who truly thrives when he has both connection and purpose.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free, and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.
Ongoing Health
Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django experiences fear-based reactivity in certain situations, feeling uncertain around unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, or dogs encountered on leash. He requires thoughtful management in public and benefits from a predictable routine and continued behavior support from an experienced pet parent. He also has a history of resource guarding with another dog around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident involving an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up helps him feel secure. He already knows many cues including sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, no bark, and ok as a release cue. Practicing these skills with positive reinforcement helps keep his mind engaged and happy.
