Say hello to Sable, a two-year-old Retriever mix who's mastered the art of being perfectly medium – from her energy to her preference for quiet companionship. Weighing in at 55 lbs, Sable is the canine equivalent of "just right," happy with daily strolls or a good sniff around the yard. She's not one to hog the limelight and has a medium energy level that makes her content with a moderate amount of activity. Apartment living with a patio is great, and a suburban backyard is even better, but please no dog parks – Sable prefers her playdates to be with known companions.
When it comes to feline friends, Sable's motto is "Cats? Never met them." She's quite content keeping it that way and has no experience with them. Her social skills with humans and dogs are generally on point, though she doesn't appreciate dogs who lack manners or invade her personal space. Sable appreciates her routine, enjoys a good snuggle on the couch, and occasionally takes on a "mom" role with other dogs. She is mostly trained but is still a work in progress, as are we all!
Sable enjoys her personal space when alone and is not a couch potato or a shoe muncher. She’s a low-maintenance companion ready to bond with someone who loves stability as much as she does. An ideal day for Sable includes a good walk, a cozy nap, and being your understated shadow. She's not just a pet; she's a presence.
Ideal Home
Sable would thrive in a home that offers stability and a moderate amount of activity. She prefers not to have dog parks and would do best in a home without cats. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended.

Sable is mostly trained but is still a work in progress. She enjoys her personal space when left alone.

Transporation
Sable is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week.
