Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd with a heart as big as her impressive frame! She came to us from a difficult hoarding situation, where she, unfortunately, lacked the crucial socialization that young dogs need. While she was cared for, her early days were overwhelming, and she's now learning to navigate the world with confidence. Raquel is incredibly sweet and truly wants to trust, but she can be a little unsure of new things. She needs a patient and understanding approach to process and settle into her surroundings.
The wonderful news is that Raquel is making fantastic progress! She's well past her initial shyness and is gaining confidence daily. With the right guidance and a loving environment, she's sure to blossom into the amazing companion we know she can be. She's not quite as outgoing as some of her peers yet, but she's steadily moving forward.
Ideal Home
Raquel would thrive in a home that understands her need for patience, routine, and consistency. A securely fenced yard is a must for her to explore and feel safe. She is good with other dogs and cats, and due to her sensitive nature and ongoing confidence-building, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. A confident, friendly resident dog would be a huge asset, providing Raquel with a role model to learn from and build her own courage.
Ongoing Health
Raquel is a large breed and is expected to be well over 100 pounds when fully grown. All known health information is provided in her listing.
Training & Support
Raquel is still learning about indoor living, leash walking, and everyday household activities. She's not a difficult dog, just inexperienced and a little uncertain. Consistency, patience, and a gentle approach will be key to her success.
