Meet Chelsea! This spirited, smart, and affectionate Pittie mix, born on January 30, 2022, and weighing around 70 lbs, has a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. Chelsea absolutely LOVES toys, walks, treats, and tagging along for car rides. While she can be full of energy during playtime, she's equally happy curling up beside you at night for snuggles. She'll gently nudge your hand or lift your arm with her nose when she wants more love, and it's impossible not to adore her.
This clever girl is highly food-motivated, making training fun and rewarding. She even knows how to open push-down door handles, so be prepared to child-lock a few doors! She has also made huge progress overcoming her fear of baths. Chelsea's personality is the perfect mix of goofy, sassy, loyal, and loving. She's not a big barker, but she will insert herself if the kids start arguing because she clearly sees herself as the household supervisor.
Ideal Home
Chelsea would prefer to be the only dog in the home and is not a good fit for homes with cats. While she currently lives with children, she would thrive best with teenagers or in an adult-only home. She loves women but can be wary of men, especially if their movements are loud or unpredictable. She can become overstimulated during play and tends to be mouthy when excited, so calm, structured interactions are important. She also prefers a calmer home environment.
Ongoing Health
Chelsea is fully vetted. She has made wonderful progress overcoming her fear of baths, and thunderstorms can still scare her. When she's nervous, she prefers staying close to the people she trusts most.
Training & Support
Chelsea is crate trained, potty trained, and trustworthy when free-roaming. She is highly food-motivated, which aids in training. She has made significant progress on leash manners and walks well with proper tools and structure, though continued management is important due to her strength and reactivity toward other dogs. She has previously shown reactivity toward male dogs and can be protective around food, so she is fed separately. She can be fearful of men and teenage boys, but with slow introductions and patience, she has shown tremendous progress and has even accepted affection from men during outings.
