Mary Todd Lincoln is our feisty little Chi girl with a brave little heart that is still learning the world can be safe.

She is young, scared, and unsure of herself right now. Mary Todd Lincoln wants to trust, but she is not quite there yet — and that is okay. She has allowed us to touch her, which is a big step, but she is not ready for full rub downs, being picked up, or being held.

This little girl needs someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed. She needs a quiet, patient foster home willing to let her move at her own pace and celebrate the small wins along the way.

Slowly but surely, Mary Todd Lincoln will come out of her fear state and learn that humans can be kind, gentle, and full of love. Under that scared little exterior is a sweet girl who just needs time, patience, and consistency.
