Mona

Mona is a sweet, ten-month-old, six-pound female Chihuahua who is ready to find her forever home. She is the ultimate "velcro dog" who absolutely adores people and will happily follow you around as your loyal little shadow. Mona would thrive best with someone who is home most of the day since she loves human companionship so much. While she can be a bit cautious when meeting new people, once she knows you, she will love you forever. She also gets along with cats and other dogs her own size when given a proper, slow introduction.

Ongoing Health

Mona is a special needs pup who was recently diagnosed with Steroid-Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis (SRMA). This is a non-infectious autoimmune condition that causes inflammation around the spinal cord lining and blood vessels. Mona will need daily steroid medication to manage this condition. The medical prognosis for a full recovery is good with proper treatment, and she is expected to live a completely normal, happy life with a good quality of life. Daily medication costs approximately $11 a month.
