Meet Penny, a sweet and spirited 14-year-old lady who weighs around 20 lbs and is already spayed. Penny is a short-coated gal with a low energy level, perfect for someone looking for a calm companion. Her adoption fee is sponsored, making her even more accessible! Penny is currently located in Crestview, FL.
Penny's story is one of resilience. She came into rescue with her sister, Lucy, after a heartbreaking loss. After receiving much-needed medical care and medication adjustments, both girls found loving homes. Sadly, Penny has recently returned to rescue through no fault of her own. Despite her age, Penny is a joy to be around! She greets her foster family with the enthusiasm of a puppy, complete with zoomies! She's a well-behaved girl who is mostly pee-pad trained but also understands the call of nature outside. Penny is a happy soul who enjoys people, other dogs, and most of all, belly rubs! She's independent and content to snuggle in bed or in her own cozy spot. Penny is also a great traveler, enjoying car rides and walks on the leash.
Ideal Home
Penny would do best in a home where someone works from home or can take her along when they are away for more than a couple of hours. This will provide her with the stability and companionship she deserves after experiencing several changes in her life.
Ongoing Health
Penny has been diagnosed with heart disease and Cushings disease. Both conditions are well-managed with her current medication. The rescue will provide both medications at no cost to the adopter for the remainder of Penny's life.
Training & Support
Penny is a well-behaved girl who is mostly pee-pad trained and also has some outdoor potty habits. She walks well on a leash and is generally a happy companion.
