Mabel - Available for Adopter or Foster

Mabel is a stunning 3–5 year old German Shepherd, weighing about 75 lbs, who was rescued from a high-risk shelter in North Carolina. It appears Mabel had recently given birth before being found alone as a stray. While we don’t know much about her past, it’s clear her life hasn’t always been kind to her. Despite everything she’s endured, Mabel is incredibly loving, gentle, and sweet. She is shy and a bit skittish when first meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and forms strong bonds with those around her. Once she feels comfortable, she happily greets her people with excitement and affectionate jump-ups. Her soulful eyes tell her story—when she looks at you, it’s with pure love and quiet kindness. Mabel is currently in a boarding facility where she enjoys playing with other dogs and shows great social behavior. She walks well on leash, is calm and mellow overall, and occasionally breaks into joyful zoomies that remind you she’s still learning how good life can be.

Ideal Home

Mabel would do best in a quiet, low-traffic environment where she can continue to build confidence and feel safe. An adult-only home would be the best fit for her at this time.

Ongoing Health

Mabel needs a little extra TLC after life on the streets and in the shelter, but she is otherwise healthy.
