Meet Juice, a 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a gentle soul. Juice, who his foster calls Joey, is a sweet and charming boy looking for a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. He adores his toys and enjoys quiet time with his person, often resting his head or paw on your arm as his special way of showing affection. Juice can be a bit shy and wary around new people, but with slow and gentle introductions, he builds trust and becomes incredibly loyal and devoted.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing and building trust take time. He needs a home without cats, as he is known to chase them. He would also be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can receive all the attention and feel secure.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, and to manage this, he eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, but this can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness, as harsh corrections can make him feel guilty or fearful. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and while he sleeps well in his crate, he has had some potty accidents. He may need a little help getting into cars, but he loves rides once he's in!
