Jason is a smart and fun-loving dog who thrives on adventure and connection! This intelligent boy, weighing 64 lbs, masters new skills with ease and is eager to please his person, always looking for that special bond. He enjoys playing with other dogs but prefers to be the boss and can get into altercations if another male dog tries to dominate him. Close monitoring during introductions is recommended due to his strength. Jason is a fantastic hiking companion, comfortable both on and off-leash, and reliably checks back in with his handler. He also loves car rides! A volunteer shared, "I LOVE this guy! He looks up to me for direction and guidance and I know he wants to do the right thing but has likely had very little people companionship and direction in his life up until now. The right person will be lucky to have this boy in their life. If his adopter continues his leash and obedience training and allows for plenty of exercise, they will be rewarded with a loyal and wonderful friend." Jason graduated from Dog School Training with flying colors, with his trainer noting he's a "sports dog by nature" who excels at agility and loves ball games. He is obedient, focused, affectionate, and possesses a protective instinct when shown love. Cortez Rescue recommends an experienced handler who can continue his training and support him as he navigates the world. Jason currently lives harmoniously with a female pit bull in his foster home and knows basic commands like sit, down, off, wait, heel, and come. He does not exhibit any signs of separation anxiety.
