Jetty - Loyal dog with a gentle spirit

Meet Jetty, a handsome 3-year-old American Fox Hound mix who weighs in at about 45-50 pounds. Jetty's story is one of resilience; he was sadly abandoned in the Mississippi woods after being tricked into what he thought was a hunting trip. He was found in a state of hopelessness and near starvation, but thanks to rescue, he's now ready to find a loving home where he can heal and receive all the affection he deserves.

Ideal Home

Jetty would thrive in a calm and nurturing environment. He hasn't been exposed to children, so a home without young kids would be ideal. Older children who can understand and respect his boundaries might be suitable. He's a gentle soul, perfect for someone looking for a mellow companion for snuggles or quiet companionship. While he hasn't been around cats, he does get along well with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Jetty was treated for heartworms in April 2026. All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.

Training & Support

Jetty will need patience as he learns to walk confidently on a leash. He is crate-trained and will not have accidents as long as he is taken out regularly. All dogs require professional training to help them become the best family members they can be.

Transportation

Jetty is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long-distance adoption process includes speaking with his foster parent in the south.
