Papillon

My name is Papillon, and I'm an approximately 8-month-old, 40-pound Boxer/Terrier mix. I was found without a home, and when I first arrived, I was quite scared because so much was new to me. Thankfully, I had other dog friends to help me feel more at ease. I'm still a bit timid and startle easily, often wanting to retreat when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm hoping for a patient family who will be with me and help me learn that new things can be wonderful, not scary. I love to play with my toys and am getting better about chewing only those. I'm also learning to be comfortable in a crate and making good progress with house training.

Ideal Home

I would do best in a home with only adults, as children can be a bit overwhelming for me right now. I need a patient family who wants to spend time with me and teach me new things. A securely fenced yard is a must for me, as it will keep me safe if I get scared and try to run. I also really need a canine companion to help me learn to feel safe and confident. I enjoy chasing cats, but they don't seem to enjoy it back.

Ongoing Health

I am neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

I'm still working on my leash manners as I get nervous when I'm outside my familiar environment. I'm also still learning house training, but I'm improving! I need a patient family to help me build my confidence.
