Meet Lily! She is a sweet, loving shepherd mix, 5 years old and weighing 65 pounds. Lily was rescued from Mexico as a puppy and has grown into a gentle soul who is timid at first but warms up quickly to anyone taking care of her. Her favorite thing to do is to stare into your eyes while you stroke her face. She also has a goofy side to her personality, and when she's excited (often about food or attention) her whole body wiggles when she shakes her tail. Lily loves being able to sit in the sun or by an open door to get a fresh breeze and hear nature sounds. Lily loves walks, but she is also a bit of a homebody and gets tired on long hikes or runs. She doesn't like fireworks and will try to hide in a closet or pantry if she hears them. Lily has been living with two other dogs for most of her life and has also gotten along with other dogs at dog sitters' houses. She has not been around children or cats but should do fine with older children!
Ideal Home
Lily would love a home where she can relax in the sun or by an open door with a fresh breeze. While she enjoys walks, she's a homebody and prefers not to go on long hikes or runs. Loud noises like fireworks can scare her, so a quieter environment would be ideal. She should do well with older children.
Ongoing Health
Lily is spayed, healthy, and up to date on vaccines. A couple of years ago, she had knee surgery for a torn ACL ligament and recovered well. She experienced some joint pain temporarily, which seemed to resolve after she lost some weight.
Training & Support
Lily is house-trained and knows some basic commands. She is very food-motivated, which can be a great asset for continued training.
