About Blair

Blair is a dog who's more like a cat, seeking a comfortable home and daily meals but preferring to keep her distance from humans. She's incredibly calm, quiet, and is already crate and house-trained. Unfortunately, Blair is absolutely terrified of people. Her past experiences have left her deeply fearful, and she must be kept on a tie-out in a fenced yard when outside to ensure she can be brought back in. If she's inside, she needs to be cornered to be caught and then carried out to her tie-out. Blair spends her days in her foster home tucked away in a corner, constantly watching her foster parent and retreating further if approached. She needs a very special adopter who is patient and willing to dedicate months, if not years, to slowly building her trust and showing her that humans can be gentle, kind, and loving. While there's been only minuscule improvement in her foster home, she has started to use a dog bed and will occasionally come inside on her own if the door is left open and her foster is out of sight. Interestingly, Blair seems less fearful of men and children. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and rabbits, showing no prey drive. The most remarkable thing about Blair is her complete lack of aggression, even when scared. She's a gentle soul in need of a hero.
