Smidge

Smidge is an affectionate and intelligent black and white neutered male Labrador Retriever/Blue Heeler mix, born on October 7, 2023. He currently weighs around 45 pounds and is expected to grow into a medium to large adult. Smidge has a medium-length coat and is already crate trained. While he's a playful pup, he can also be timid and skittish, showing an eagerness to please. He's quite vocal and would benefit greatly from some focused training to help him build confidence and truly blossom. Smidge is searching for a loving and safe forever home where he can feel secure and cherished.

Ongoing Health

All dogs are spayed or neutered (unless medical issues prohibit the surgery), up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested (if old enough) and treated if necessary. They are also de-wormed and start heartworm and flea prevention when rescued, which is continued until adopted. Adopters are furnished with their first month's heartworm prevention. A health certificate stating the dog does not have a contagious disease or internal parasites is provided.

Training & Support

Smidge is vocal and would benefit from training to help him gain confidence and overcome his skittishness.

Transportation

Smidge is located in the Memphis area. Out-of-state adoptions are available for an additional fee, which includes a transportation fee paid to an approved animal transportation company. Several states require a 48-hour quarantine period before pickup, which is an additional adopter cost unless otherwise indicated.
