Max is a handsome 6-year-old, 71 lb Akita/Husky mix with one striking blue eye and a heart full of love to give. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Max is also fully house-trained, having had no accidents in his foster home. He truly loves life and is an intelligent, obedient dog eager to learn and very attuned to the people around him. Max already knows most commands and quickly bonds with those who give him time and space to get to know them. Once he feels safe, his calm and happy personality shines through.
Max was sadly dumped at a kill shelter in NY and was understandably frightened. He was initially hesitant on walks and unsure of people, preferring to take treats only when no one was watching. It was clear he longed to trust, needing only to feel safe. Thankfully, his foster home provided that safety, and Max began to blossom. He's now a calm, happy boy who enjoys human companionship. He loves going on walks, exploring new places, and taking car rides. Max also has a sweet, playful side and enjoys carrying around his favorite toys, especially his duck, avocado, and little mouse. He thrives with structure and happily relaxes in his crate after his adventures. While he may be a bit shy initially, once he trusts you, he becomes an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.
