At just 4 months old, this adorable Pit Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix is already showing what an incredible companion she's going to become. Bellona has a thoughtful, independent personality that sets her apart. She still loves all the fun that comes with being a puppy, playing with her siblings, chasing toys, and cuddling up for naps, but there's something about her that feels just a little wiser. She's observant, eager to learn, and always seems ready for the next challenge! Bellona absolutely loves attention and affection from her people, but she's also confident enough to entertain herself when needed. She has a wonderful balance of independence and companionship, making her the perfect puppy for someone looking for a dog that's both playful and easy to spend time with!

Ideal Home

Bellona would do well in a home that can continue to reinforce polite manners and supervised interactions due to her enthusiastic greetings. Families with young children should be prepared for this. Slow, supervised introductions would be recommended if you have cats.

Ongoing Health

Bellona is up to date on all vetting including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. She will receive a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable and a heartworm test and treatment if needed. She will be microchipped with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Bellona is incredibly eager to learn and already knows how to sit. She responded exceptionally well to new commands like "paw," "lay down," and "stay," picking them up even faster than expected. She is highly food motivated, making training enjoyable and rewarding. Bellona is doing an amazing job with potty training and is well on her way to being fully house-trained. She is also doing well with crate training and follows a structured routine. She is working on impulse control around meal times and has made great progress. Bellona is learning that not every dog wants to wrestle all day and benefits from structure, guidance, and positive reinforcement. Like every puppy, Bellona will thrive with patience, consistency, and plenty of love.

Transporation

Bellona is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page! Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
