Onyx is a handsome boy with a gentle soul. While his past is a mystery, it's clear that life taught him to be cautious. He doesn't hand out his trust immediately, preferring to observe and take his time before deciding he's ready to connect. Once he trusts you, however, you'll discover an incredibly loyal companion who will stand by your side. Watching Onyx learn to simply be a dog and enjoy simple pleasures like chewing on a bone or playing with toys has been a joy. He doesn't need someone to rescue him; he needs someone willing to believe in him, celebrate his small victories, and cherish the quiet moments as he becomes the amazing dog he's meant to be.
Ideal Home
Onyx would love to be the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love for himself. If there is another dog, he will need slow, thoughtful introductions to help him feel safe and comfortable. Because he is still building confidence, we also feel he would do best in a home without young children.
Ongoing Health
Onyx is in good health and has no known medical conditions.
Training & Support
Onyx is crate trained and has wonderful house manners. He is eager to please and knows commands such as sit, shake, leave it, watch, down, come, and stay. He patiently sits for his meals and treats, taking them with a gentle touch. He politely sits to have his leash put on before heading out for his daily walks.
