Duchess

Duchess is a sweet, affectionate, silly 6-year-old girl who is always thrilled to see you when you get home, yet doesn't make a fuss when you leave. She gets super excited to go on walks but also loves lounging around the house. She gets along with other dogs as long as they are "nice," as she can get intimidated by rowdy dogs. She is very treat-motivated and enjoys training! She knows how to "sit" and is currently working on her loose-leash walking skills. Duchess was rescued from a San Jose shelter, where she was dropped off after being found tied to a fence. While she may have had a difficult life before her rescue, Duchess is, at heart, a very affectionate dog. However, she is also an anxious dog, and it takes time before she is comfortable with new people. While she is head over heels in love with her foster mom, she is, for unknown reasons, still very fearful of other members of the household even after several months of living with them. We are hoping that Duchess will find a forever family who is patient and willing to invest the time into gaining her trust and ultimately reaping the benefits of her undying love!
