About Lily

Lily, born February 9, 2020, is a delightful German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love to give! Affectionately known as Lily Bear or Lily Bell, she truly embodies the phrase "sweet and spice and everything nice." This spunky girl is packed with energy, a touch of sass, and an endless capacity for play. She absolutely adores being held, snuggling into your arms like a baby and will even reach out with her front paws when she wants some cuddle time. Lily's ideal family will be an active one, eager to include her in all their adventures, from hiking and running to camping trips. She also has a soft spot for children and thrives on being part of the family's action!

Ideal Home

Lily would thrive in an active household that can include her in outdoor adventures. She loves kids and wants to be part of the action. Her ideal home would have a secure 6-foot fence and would be with adults, or adults with children over the age of 5.

Ongoing Health

Lily has Megaesophagus, a condition affecting the esophagus. She requires meals to be eaten in a custom-built Bailey chair, remaining upright for 20-30 minutes after each meal. Once feeding is complete, she's back to her playful self! Families who have cared for dogs with Megaesophagus report that the feeding routine becomes quite manageable after a short adjustment period.

Training & Support

Lily is kennel trained and is learning to use a bell to signal when she needs to go outside. She knows basic commands but can sometimes get excited and forget. Her German Shepherd intelligence makes her highly trainable, and she's leash-trained, enjoying walks and car rides.
