Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, and a little bit of shyness. She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and while her brother has found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she has never shown any reactivity; when unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. She is gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. With patience and trust-building, Trix softens, plays with toys, enjoys time with other dogs, and will eventually seek out cuddles on the couch or bed.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She does well with other dogs after proper acclimation and would thrive with a confident canine companion to learn from. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence-building.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and housebroken.
Training & Support
Trix is learning to walk on a leash and loves her crate. She has been around kids and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.
